I haven't tested the stone yet, because I don't have any unhoned razors at the moment, and I'd rather not dull a good razor just to hone it again. I lapped the coticule side a short while ago, so I'll buy an eBay special tonight and test the stone by the weekend.

Brother, this thing is heavy. =)

Great stone. Glad you're not going to cut it shorter. IME pink coticules are great hones.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

OMG! What a huge horse of a coticule, and pink too. So rare..I would not cut it. Congratulations and I would like to hear the story of how you came by it, if you feel like sharing it. Someday I hope to get as lucky as you did.

That really is a nice coticule. I bet with heavy slurry, you can grind a wedge out of a 4mm hardened steel bar.

Because the idea of cutting it entered your mind I have to ask:
how much did you spend for it. As much as I think, or did you get really lucky.
Because usually such rare sizes cost a fortune, much more than two coticules that will combined be the same size would cost.
This leads me to the conclusion you must have payed less, than I think.
This leads me to my final question: where the hell did you find yourself ths perfectly nice stone?

Not only are big sized coticules rare, but the shape and homogenity of this one is off the hook. Even for a standart size coticule!
Man am I excited for you

Are you at least offering something good like Sammy Smith's Taddy Porter? (I love that stuff!)

I got lucky, without doubt. But I still paid a pretty penny for it. I could buy a nice 6x2" BBW/coticule for what I paid in shipping alone.

At the end of the day, I still got the deal of a lifetime. =)

    Thanx,
