MONSTER Coticule Jr.
This is the little brother to the Belgian BBW/Coticule owned by Marcus (littlesilverbladefromwale) as seen HERE.
Here's what I know about it...
1. Vintage
2. Pink Coticule
3. Natural Combo
4. Original Stamps (x3)
5. "SELECTED" Grade (The only legible stamp.)
6. Monster Size (299mm x 67.5mm x 35mm)
7. One lifetime supply of BBW and pink coticule.
It's a big stone, in fact it may be too big. I'm thinking of cutting it down to 8 x 2.75 with an extra 3.75 x 2.75 travel size stone. (Just kidding.)
Does that sound like a good idea? =)
Thanx,

Dang! That's a big hone.
I would leave the hone as-is and not cut it down. That's just me though.

I wouldn't cut it down either. You can always get another smaller one, but you may never find another that size again.
That is a beautiful coticule!

I do prefer the smaller 6x2 or 7x2 combos (which look like slurry stones next to this one), because I like to hone in my hand. But I guess it's time I learn how to hone on a table.
Oh, and I was kidding about cutting this stone. I know better. =)
However, I will need to lap the pink coticule side, and I'm sure to lose the last remaining evidences of the original stamps. And that makes me a little sad.
(You can see the word "SELECTED" stamped just above the card in the last photo.)
Oh, well. =/

Very nice stone. Have you tested it yet?
how it performs?

Please don't cut it, with the quarries running short those big ones are irreplaceable!

Thanked: 39Where do you come across such a stone? There has to be a story behind it?
I would love to find a treasure like that.

Not a good idea in my opinion.
The honing stroke that a long hone gives you
is hard to match. The value of the hone would
be reduced way out of proportion to the reduction
in size.
Shop for a travel size stone or barber hone.
A smaler irregularly shaped "bout" may be the best
buy for a travel hone if you want a Coti for traveling.
