Thanked: 74I just did it the other day. Just takes a while. I normally use a D8C or a 1k, but I thought I'd give the 3k a shot. It works fine, just takes longer.

Thanked: 13thanks guys. Sounds like I should get a 1K for it. Obviously I'm a first timer but it's like swimming I guess. Enough reading about the strokes, need ot jump in. Here's some pics of the rust cleaned off razor I want to get into shave shape.

At one time the Norton 4K was the lowest grit hone I had and I set many a bevel with it. It was a long miserable job and I wouldn't want to do it like that again but yes it can be done.

Thanked: 74I have a king 1k that I got from Lee Valley. Works pretty good in my opinion, but then I haven't had any other 1ks to compare it to.
I do love my nanis (3k and 8k). If I were to do it again I might have gone with the 1k in that line as well.
