Thanked: 1072Slurry on Thuri
I recently got my hands on this old thuri http://straightrazorpalace.com/hones...tar-brand.html Its a nice little 6"x1" and it seems to give a very nice finish (I've onlt tried it once so far).
I've read a lot of guys recomend using slurries with this type of stone and would like to try it out. I dont have a slurry stone for it and my concern is that if I get a small dmt 325 I might scratch up the surface or just wear through the hone in a couple of years. It seems very soft, there were a chunk out of the bottom of the stone that I wanted to smooth out and I was amazed how easy it was to reshape the material.
Am I being paranoid or can anyone recomend an alternative, I have no experience with these hones."I aint like that no more...my wife, she cured me of drinking and wickedness"

For another recent thread, check out here http://straightrazorpalace.com/honin...huringian.html
Searching should turn up a bunch more, as I know this is a topic that's been talked about a lot.
