Hone Master
Who do you think is one of the best honemeisters out there? I'd like my blades done up by the best.

Thanked: 66I would say the "best" is relative to how they hone/restore..etc based on what you feel is the "best"..if I could send my shave gear to the almighty himself..I would!...

I should have been more specific. By best I mean somebody with a solid reputation in honing blades. When I Google for honing service I get quite a number who offer this service but I know nothing about them and don't want to send my razors blindly. So I thought the members here could give me some recommendations.

Ray,
FYI
In the UK we have :
Mr Neil Miller (www.strop-shop.co.uk)
Mr Steve Dempster (www.theinvisibleedge.co.uk)
Mr Gary Haywood
I have had blades honed by Mr Miller & Mr Dempster, and their work is absolutely first rate
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

I would have to add Sham and Kelly, hi-bud gl and nun-to-sharp. Also Randy, Randy Dance, although he does not hone for others. They taught me. You'll find out once you get your razor back and shave with it. Then you can evaluate yourself. I’m sure there are many others that have the skill required. It’s something you can learn too. That’s fun.

Thanked: 240You already have been given a fine list for hone masters. In my experiance each has a slightly different idea of what a properly honed razor is my advice is to experiment with different hone masters to find who's work you prefer. I'd personally start with Lynn he has the most experiance AFAIK, and is a great base line to start with to judge others against. But any mentioned I'm sure will give you a well honed razor.
