[QUOTE=Scipio;664286]MODINE, what could you possibly require a Deep Rock coticule for now that you have a Honyama??

I have HAD BAD. I got some killer stones man. I don't have quantity but I have quality. The Salm coti (15K+ maybe) makes this tinkle sound when you flip the blade on it. I'm pretty sure that's a high end Asagi I got from Mac. It's a slow stone (30K+) but soooo smooth. I use them all too. ,

It may not be far off 15K, that Salm coticule. The only coticule I ever keep out of 5 was a vintage one that gives an edge en par with my Escher...

My regrets and deepest sympathies! Where do I send the flowers?

Maybe you are right I have only seen coticules+BBW in natural combination, the glued coticules that I've seen are always mounted in portuguese slate, because the costs are cheaper than the french or belgian slate.

Under a hand held scope, the red/brown garnets in a BBW are very apparent.

Recently mined Coticules will have a Portugese slate backing but vintage Coticules have a BBW backing if any. Although there might be a few exceptions, I haven't seen any but I don't want to rule it out.
