    I'd like some info, if possible on a particular natural stone I'm looking at... I would like to correspond with someone well versed in identifying these stones and their relative value.
    If you post in this thread, I'll shoot you a PM with pics..

    it will be very hard to tell anything about the quality of the stone.
    someone can tell name etc but quality you have to test it.

    Buying J-Nats from unknown places is always an expensive gamble.
    From a picture nobody can tell you the quality, quicknes/hardness/fineness hence the practical value of a stone.
    You will have to test it (or need somone experienced to test it for you).
    Then it is still up to the seller to demand for the stone what he thinks it is worth
