I've used Poly on a pristine Escher, works great, lasts, and is waterproof....

I have used nail polisher on Salmens sticker (very thin film like) on the Yellow Lake Hone and it bubled up. Fortunately did not put it over all of it just a part therefore I can stil salvage the part which matters most. Any ideas what would work for those?

If you want to preserve the label in an archival way to keep it from staining or yellowing over time while retaining the integrity of the paper, I would suggest an artist supply line by Windsor Newton. All of their products are specially formulated to be as chemically neutral as possible. The spray Fixiative would be the least invasive or their spray Varnish would give you a greater barrier and if you used a couple of lite coats of the varnish the label could most likely still be handled. Best to use very light coats of either of the products. Alx

Krylon: Products: Low Odor Clear Finish

I used four coats of this on my Escher, it seems to work really well. I think the label side is completely water proof now and protected.
