Thanked: 522I am being misunderstood...
The three requests were for those people to just evaluate my coticule. I was not in any way advertising for buyers.
That would be against the rules and we are not breaking rules at all.
Again I say, 3 members wanted to evaluate my stone, that's all.
No mention was made to buy or sell this stone at any time.
Also again, thanks for all the interest.JERRY
OOOPS! Pass the styptic please.

Deliver What?
4k level, 6k level, 8k level etc edge?
How fast or slow?
Is it practical hone on the stone days to make One straight razor shave ready?
This is all question marks?
It has been Long time conversation about those Factors.
So much variations among coticules.
Some will cut fast enough and put good edge (Mostly old coticules Why? i haven't able to figure it out yet but sooner or later i will.)
Some will act very very slow but will make final edge finer.
(don't use this stone as a sharpening purposes)
Some will act even 4k level and gritty sound you will have while you hone the razor.
Basically using coticule is similar to put yourself Inside Jungle without Compass.
that is why we recommend people start with Synthetic stones learn how to hone razors and how stone should sharpen the blade.
After that you can decide . You your own.

What I meant was: fast or slow, they can all deliver a shave-ready edge.
How fast or slow ? I can't quantify it but you can see clearly, when you start with slurry, that some stones turn the slurry black after a few strokes, with some stones it takes ... (sometimes a lot) longer.
True, there is a lot of variation in coticules but for me that's part of the fun of working with one.

Maybe you should go back a few posts and read again, carefully this time: you'll see I was only making claims about the stones I have personally used. Four in total.
Now, I'm certain you didn't mean to make comments about my small collection of coticules ?
Oh, and why shouldn't we talk more about fun ? This is a hobby after all. Well, at least for me it is ...
