Default First Jnat ... absolutely amazing!!

I just had to throw this out to you guys. I've been reading all of the posts about Japanese Whetstones so I started reading as much as I could about them. I learned a lot of words and tags but not much about what to look for. I didn't think that any stone could be as good as my yellow coticule. So I took a leap of faith .... and invested some money in a Jnat that I just received today. I contacted Alex at TheJapanBlade who is knowledgeable and a gentleman.... and gets back to you promptly. A pleasure to do business with.
Anyway, the stone that I got is most beautiful, a mix of green and grey-pink. I was afraid, just as some of you are, that I would invest a lot of money and not like the stone. Alex will take the stone back if you do not like it but it is not necessary in my case. I've been experimenting with it all day and the results have been nothing less than amazing. I was able to skip my Norton 4000 and 8000 and C12K. It felt buttery with slurry, great feedback as it started to dry, and polished the bevel well. I went from Jnat to strop and got a great shave. I am very impressed with the stone.

You guys are killing me with this J-nat stuff. Congrats on the stone.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Congrats on that beauty...

I swear with that coloring you could have told me it was a Charlney Forest and I would have believed it

    Thumbs up

Wowwww...Nice score Steve . JNats are great. As far as synthetics go, I now only use my Naniwa 1k. The Nani 5, 8 and 12K are sitting there gathering dust

Very nice stone you have there

Yes they are addictive, but not for everyone, you have to be open to the posabilities of each stone

So you come off the bevel setting 1k stone and then go right to the Jnat???

I do for the most part. Set bevel on the Shapton GS 1k, polish on the 3k GS, from there I got to Japanese Naturals.

It does take a bit of playing with to get the strokes figured out though
