Thanked: 1371Here's a thread about it: http://straightrazorpalace.com/advan...as-stones.html
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Thanked: 202Nice stone.Funny thing is that I think it is only 1/2 of the original stone. I had simmilar shape just smaller in my hands recently (it means yesterday when I gave it to a friend of mine enjoy and use it). And the price? It feels good to know what I have in my collection and how much some thinks it is worth.

Is anyone else amazed by the size of the bevel around this stone from chamfering?

Thanked: 202You will find that this type of CF (meaning it's shape) is often badly chiped on edges and therefore if you lap it is often better to have a bigger chamfer.

adrspach, I contacted the seller and you were right, the original stone was cut. I remember an CF auction with pencil lines drawn on the surface, might have been that one. The other half is currently for sale.
