Charnley Forest Whoa!!
Holy #$%&%!!#@
There is a Charnley currently up on ebay selling for $405 with 11 bids with 5 days to go. Talk about the law of supply and demand!! I can maybe understand if collectors bid this high but as far as function, is this stone maybe $500-600 good?
I know someone is going to compare it to an expensive JNat but I don't think the comparison is fair. I guess I really shouldn't post until I try one, huh? Looking for some opinions and feedback on Charnley and Charnley vs Price.

Charnley Forest hones are usually pretty good but this seems a bit much for it's small size. It does look very nice though.

IMO that is expensive for a CF. They're good hones but you can pick them up for far less than that, even on eBay.
I wouldnt compare the finish to a J-Nat though. They are very hard stones and leave a very fine, very sharp edge like a J-Nat but slightly harsher feeling as well. Stones like Eschers and J-Nats leave a softer feeling edge I've found, I suspect due to the more common use of slurry.
I know a few guys have tried their CF's with slurry though, thats something I'll have to try with mine and see what difference it makes!
They are good stones though, and good finishers.

Thanked: 13245The proof is in the price, two people think that they have to have it...
All it takes is two people that want that stone more than they need money

Charnley's are the flavor of the month around here, I've seen this a million times...
It's a good finisher, but it's not the only finisher...We have assumed control !
