I received my nagura from Teshiba-san yesterday. Thought I'd share some pics for those that enjoy such things...

Very nice family of stones. I do have one question. They look very small, how does one hone a blade on them or are they bigger than they appear?

Think of them like rubbing stones for generating slurry on a Jnat.

Here is a quote from the site I got mine at.

After finished sharpening with Nagura slurry, wash the razor and fine finishing whetstone very well, and then start sharpening the razor blade on the finishing whetstone with little bit water without Nagura.

No joke about the HAD. It's been suggested the best way to keep a japanese natural stone lapped is with another japanese natural stone!!

Legal, how would you rate their relative softness? How would you rank them based on how quickly the slurry comes up?
I have only my own stones and a theory.

    Thanks,
I never did quite understand how the JNats actually worked. Now I think I may need some.

I recommend doing so. I lapped my Oozuku with my Iwasaki Select Nakayama--it makes a very smooth surface!

Honestly, I didn't pay particular attention to this attribute. I'll play with them and get back to you...
