Thanked: 2Another ID this hone request
Funny I always find my way here the most. I was just curious if anyone knew what type of stone this is? It's 2" wide by 6 3/16th inches long. There are spots that feel a bit rough, but for the most part it is very soft all over. It has some text on one side that I can't make out fully. Doesn't help my eyes are dilated and wearing sunglasses either, but the camera helps them come out a bit better.

Thanked: 2Yeah not expecting straight razors on this. Still I like the looks of it for some reason. I know someone who would like this but just curious if anyone had some ideas.

Thanked: 154It looks like a dressing stone used for smoothing the edges of ceramic tile during installation.

OMG...Looks like some kind of Pumice stone, or like they said, a dressing stone....
I bet you could lapp the hell out of some stones with that bad boy...It'd probably make quick work of my Washita, (which seems to be as hard as diamonds....)
P.S. Is it light for it's size?We have assumed control !

Looks kind of like the stone sold in carpet installers supply houses. Use them to sharpen the Stanley utility blades they cut padding with. Not the double edged carpet blades. Very coarse stone and not at all suitable for razors ..... if that is what it is.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
