The way I see it you'd be changing the natural composition of the stone...kind of defeats the whole concept of a natural stone. I agree with the others that if it bothers you that much maybe sell it and find another or a "perfect" synthetic. Just my 2 bits, but I think things like you describe gives it character

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Oh, the stone is a okudo nashiji not
karasu. That is another stone I have.

I bought the nashiji from 330 mate.

    Here is it:

Really fine, hard stone. I need to flatten it a big more.

    HGAL=5+++/3++++/3++++/3++++

I have a hard nakayama kiita from Mainamam(sold it to me for a small price) which is nice, but this stone is much better. It is finer, but more importantly it feels good the entire surface. You get what you pay for.

Well that's it. Another addition to my stone collection.

    I now have:
    - 3 naniwas SS(800crappy stone, 3000 and 8000)
    - 3 natural stones, nakayama kiita, karasu(forgot which mine) and this
    okudo nashiji

I will probably buy a good 1000 grit stone. The SS 800 grit is really
a bad stone. I don't like it at all. Very muddy.

If you're looking for a hard and fast 1k stone I hear the Chosera 1k is real good. I haven't gotten one yet but I intend to sooner than later.

Thanks Jimmy, but can you guarantee that once I have the
    1000 grit Chosera, I don't end up buying 5000 and 10000 choseras?
    LOL!

Until your post and a follow-up Google search, I was not aware that the Superstone came in an 800 grit. If you want a comparable hone that works well, you could try the Naniwa Chosera 800 grit.

I might end up buying that stone or the chosera 1000 grit.
The 800 chosera reminds me too much of the 800 SS. Same colour.

50 euros for a 1000 grit stone is quite some money.

    Default Cyanoacrylate adhesives

    I will recommend Cyanoacrylate adhesives.
They are sold as brand names of Loctite (sp?), Krazy Glue, Super Glue etc.

Cyanoacrylate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I use it for mending small cracks in Jnats.
They are also good to fill in some Su of a nearly Su-less Suita.
Or if you dig a 針 "needle" a small toxic inclusion.

But if your digged line is broad and deep you may not fill it all. But still it will prevent the water to penetrate under the surface layer.

Apply the adhesive 2 or 3 times to be sure it has covered all vertical sides.
