Default Quick question on Norton 4/8k

Okay guys-the answer is probably here in the WIKI or the archives or is just a matter of common sense, but I'll throw it out anyway. I want to do edge maintenance on my two razors with my Norton, Do I just do a few passes on the 8k side or do I do a short pyramid between the two sides or what? I already touched one up by starting on the 4k with a few passes and then a few on 8k, and the blade seems improved, but I want to make this optimum with no mistakes if I can avoid them

If you are starting with a razor that was properly hone in the past, then 5 to 10 light strokes should be all that you should need.

The 8K side should be where you are starting. If you do 10 perfect, soft, slow strokes on that side, and see so improvement, then drop to the 4K for a couple strokes before moving back up to the 8K.

No point in doing more work than you have to, so start with your highest grit first.
