Those are definately some unique ehm stones, Oldengaerde. I don't quite get why you mixed those other stones with some of your Charnleys.

I auctioned the original on eBay, and the winner, who is a smarter person than my myself, cut the stone down the middle and auctioned the same stone twice. Interestingly, the first half sold for almost double what he originally paid for the full stone. Auctions are a strange thing. Beautiful stone.

I see you're using oil, eleblu05. Some Charnleys seem to like water others repel water. A little liquid soap circumvents the repelling but is a bit of a hassle. I recently experimented with using oil as well, I had some thin valve oil around. It works really nice despite the oily fingers I get

yes i use a lite oil it really helps the cf hone preform to its potential the oil thats was on the hone is a little thicker i used it to bring out the color of the stone

What type of oil do you guys typically use for these hones?

i like buck honing oil or 3 in 1 oil for cf stones
