Maxim, maybe when you uploaded the pictures, the size changed?
Because when I look at the norton pics, is bigger/wider, the others
    are smaller.

Very interesting blog. I did not know that it is possible to hone with WD 40. Is it smoother than with honing oil?

I will definitely try it. Previously I used WD-40 only in the process of rust removing.

It's too difficult to compare IMHO.

I am total agree with you if you read in my blog the purpose of that test was not how big scratches is but scratch patterns !

Size of the scratches do not affect how good your edge is !

As i see it the biggest different between Jnats and Western is how shallow is the scratches as you know Jnats have no grits and they brake in layers instead of size so they shave of metal of the edge instead of digging it out like round particles.

If you see on picture of 8k norton you see very long and even scratches not like on any other natural. All naturals have shorter scratches and very uneven patterns and i bet that they are more shallow too.

If you see on Ozuku picture in my last blog zoom 200x you see that it have very little scratches but some are very big it mean that its just shave of the big pieces of metal instead of dig it out !

But we can not measure how shallow scratches are from each stone so it make it impossible to see anyway witch stone is finest We can only test it on our faces !

I just made them in addition to the videos my main goal was to show how different they was !

I hope it makes sense it is very difficult to explain with my bad english

    Maxim,

This is a wonderful series and I thank you for posting the videos. I hope you post more on the outcomes of your shaving experiences after each stone and your overall preference experiences as well.

A lot of knife and Axe guys use wd40 for their stones when they don't have anything else to use, it is thinner than mineral oil which some people like more. I have heard though, as a caution heads up, that wd40 can soak into rougher stones easier sometimes decreasing their speed (obviously this isn't that relevant when consider CF stones). Others preference light Vegetable oil on their stones since it's in all groceries and is usually on hand in the home.

    They are all fineshers.
But for shave preference i can not show in the pictures
Diffrent people like different edges it depends on skin type and hair, So its very hard to judg
shaving outcome. And you know different razors like different stones !
My preference is Ozuku its for sure !! But yours can be different.

This test just to show sound and feel of hones.
