Thanked: 5God know's what a block that size is worth; I have a string of (admittedly better colored) jade beads I was recently offered €300 for..
Worth having that valued..

It's definitely cool looking, Natural, yes. Jade? I don't know. Not jem grade, AAA Gem grade Jade is naturally translucent, even unprocessed...It has a crystalline structure. That stone looks like marble. I doesn't look like any Jade I've seen...(Not to say it isn't, anything's possible) If you have a jeweler, nearby, might be worth a trip. There is another stone called nephrite which is in the jade family too. In any case, that's one cool looking stone you have there.
BTW, There is green marble...I can see what appear to be saw marks on that stone. if it's Jade, It would have to be cut with diamond blade, and they do cut Jade into block when it's quarried...So, who knows....maybe one the workers decided to try it as a sharpening stone...it's hard as steel....Last edited by zib; 07-16-2011 at 03:37 PM.
