What do you think about #7
I have a couple, both of mine seem to be pretty fast cutters
Printable View
I got this stone a couple of weeks ago but wanted to know more about it before posting it in the club :p
From what i have found out i 'think' its an Narutaki (90% sure) and a blue/grey greenish color if that makes sense lol slightly more blue then in the photo so I'm guessing its asagi? and its the finest jnat i have! I'm guessing a level 5. It gives a mirror finish, its very slow cutting but it has an awesome earth sorta smell when honing!
I have no idea of the strata and that is probably lost forever lol
It measures 8"x3"x1" and has no lines or cracks at all

A Nakayama kitta that i got very luck on from our favorite seller..
I'm guessing this is a level 4.5 and it's actually a really nice stone now that i have lapped it got it how it is! a good Pre-polisher that i paid way too much for! (before i found max and alax)

Another sorta lucky one that was over priced.... Again it came from our favorite eBay seller (love the sarcasm) before i new of Max and Alax
Its a Nakayama Kitta and its a very hard stone 5+ but gives a less then pre polish finish.. I use this with diamond powders and diamond sprays for a quick and lazy pre pre polisher. It works well for this!
I had to lap 5-10mm off this to make this a good stone.

And until my other arrive this is my last stone!
Its a tomae and i don't know anything else about it, I'm guessing this is a level 4.5-5 and gives a very nice pre polish finish!

Wakasa Kiita Lv 4 - This again is a very smooth and uniform stone - even though its a L4 i would say it's a finisher.

Unknown Asagi - If anyone can help it would be appreciated. This stone is very uniform. Probably a level 4.5 and very smooth but a pre-polisher.

@ Oz - yes i know they ate upside down lol but they were a 4mb image and by the time i realized i couldn't be bothered changing them lol I did rotate them on my PC though!
The strata wasn't stated
I have always been wondering how honing on a full size Nagura will feel like, and finally got a chance to find out. It is awesome feeling stone. Also very fast cutting compared to using tenjio nagura on hard base stone. Very very happy with this one.
Here is my latest acquisition- Tenjio Nagura.

I think this is a great prepolisher (Oozuku) - I love this thing:

Oozuku sunashi suita finisher - extremely fine and hard:

Are you sure that on the first photo you have correct white balance?
^ Beats me! I see what you mean. Pics taken a while back and there was a big difference in sunlight that must have manifest with no flash. The prepolisher is a green to greenish-gray - perhaps showing lighter in the pic. The finisher very close to correct color rendition - high Fe-oxide content with greens and grays. It is one hard sumbtch, but really throws an edge over the top.
How about that? Better?

^ This looks a little more tan than it actually is, but I appreciate the effort.
Maxim strikes again for me as well. Wakasa Asagi on it's way.
@Traskrom: what do you use a colorchecker for?
In digital photography "color" depends of so many factors, that majority of people doesn’t even aware and care about. Correct white balance, right color temperature, available light, you name it. When you look at the picture, you never know is this real color or just the color your camera can produce. Two posts above is the real example of it. To show exact color of your stone you have to use some tools which can give you at least 99% accuracy. Color checker is one of them.
X-Rite: Get exactly the color you need, every time, anywhere in the world.
nagura or tomonagura anyone? :p
Brighty83 ... I think you may have a problem lol
Man you have some awesome rocks !!! ... wait... that didnt sound right, but you know what I mean.
The madness! THE MADNESS!!!
After testing this one for a week i thought i should post it on here!
I believe this is a Yaginoshima.
The harness is about a level 4 and its a great pre polisher! I would estimate this to be around the 16-20k grit range and i have been using this with a tomonagura and just plain water!
Size: 180mm x65mm x 23mm
Weight: 0.7kg
After a month+ wait i final received my Ozuku Nashiji Lv 5 :D
USPS takes for ever! You guys need to get those donkey and carts replace replaced with cars. :p
Attachment 79516My addition to the club--my level 5+ Oozuku from JNS. Sort of a mix of Kiita & Asagi until you get to the end where it goes pure Asagi. The pic is bad, but it has some goma on the surface, giving kind of a speckled effect. Pretty fast cutter too--I barely make any slurry for most razors (the water on the razor looks a bit cloudy is all.)
This thing can get a razor just about as sharp as possible for that particular blade when maxed out (the harder razors in particular love it--they go shavette sharp or better, w/ the medium razors not too far behind) & ridiculously smooth! :)
