    It is pretty whatever it is. (Is there something "wrong" with someone who thinks a rectangular piece of stone is "pretty" ?)
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Try using it after an 8K stone and see if the edge gets finer or rougher then work from there to see how it compares to other hones and let us know!

    Hell no! I tried to convince my wife to redo our countertop in Charnley Forest. Then I realized I'm not rich and the dream vanished. Wouldn't that be sweet though?

    MadsL, I have no idea what the stone is, but it is pretty. Have you tried it on any razors?

    MadsL, you really shouldn't start a thread and ask question about a stone from a live auction, it's frowned upon. You should either wait until the auction is over or ask someone through pm. It just got sold but there is a bigger one still up.

    It looks like some kind of marble to me. Perhaps someone cut a couple hones out an excess tile from his new marble floor

    Does marble work for honing?
