Those kind of stones do not absorb oil, so, don't worry. Wash them after honing, and if there is still oil on it, give it a very fine lapping. I use WD40 and it's not bad.

I'm rather excited to give this hone a try as most indicate the Yellow Lake is around 8-9K but the seller claims 12k. *digs through my razor collection for a good tester*
Did you use this stone yet if so where would you put it, 12k- 8k-9k?

I have seen from the same seller TOS stones rated as 15k+ (not WOA, TOS, white, not grey, with the dots) so I'm not sure how accurate is his grit rate system is. The old yellow lake stones, don't know about the Salmen, are around 8 to 10k with water. Clearly a little coarser than eschers and the fine C12k. When you test them, tell us about the new ones.
