Ah! and Yuck! You can clean and lap these stones very quickly with a DMT continuous diamond 8x3 Coarse (325 grit) using a stream of water in the kitchen sink. They'll clean up and lap beautifully. You'll be able to see how much to lap as after about 15 rubs lengthwise you'll see the lighter coticule. Just lap enough to see that light area march out to the corners or into the center (if its dished). You've got some beautiful hones there.
