Lapping, flattening, surface cleaning, call it as you wish, thats the main purpose of "dressing" a stone.

If you hand out at SRP you will also find us licking, tasting, smelling and rubbing our stones. It is all good and PG rated most of the time. Originally Posted by bloodhoundman

Yes, each night I take Mr Hone out for a walk and I make sure he's properly dressed for the occasion. The fresh air puts him in a better disposition to work better.
