    Glad you liked it. I don't remember the exact stone I used on that one as I was going through a bunch of razors when I did that one. I'd say with 95% certainty that it was a coticule using dilucot. If not it was finished on a JNAT.

    I don't think grit and mesh are the same. And when I look at dmt they are measured in mesh. So I wouldn't assume that the particle size is equivalent to an 8k waterstone. I did some looking and from what I was able to tell the mesh runs larger at higher ratings. Don't take my word for it though, I don't have any dmt's yet.

    From DMT : EE plate = 8000 mesh = 3 micron

    From Shapton : 4000 mesh GS = 3.68 micron & 8000 mesh GS = 1.84 micron

    DMT's = big scratchy hard abrasive.
