I recently purchased the 1k, 5k and 10k chosera stones. I had asked a knife vendor/sharpener expert about these stones and he commented that the 10k gives a much better result if the 5k is used in the series. According to him, the 5k is the magic stone in the series. His only caution was that he says many of his knife colleagues have had problems with the 5k cracking.

I went ahead with the purchase and epoxied the stone to a Corian base. To me, a noob, the stone is very smooth, offers good feedback, is faster than my Norton. I do not soak, for fear of cracking, but spray, slurry with either the nagura provided, or with an Atoma.

My results with the 5,10 chosera followed by a jnat finish have given me awesome results.
