I got mine from him and took about a week. It really wasn't as long as I thought it was going to take coming from Poland.

I bought one from the guy in Poland and it took about 3 weeks. I got lucky and don't have any complaints. The more I use it the better it gets.

I lapped one side with wet-dry sandpaper up to 1500 grit. The one I received maxed out a blade within 40 & 50 laps (20 slurry and 20-30 on water), with softer steels but up to 70 to 80 laps with harder American steels, but the edge wasn't as smooth as it should have been.

So I started using Burt's bees shaving cream with a dilution of water on the stone (no slurry) and the stone has a softer silky feel and the razor edges are very sharp and smooth. The key to getting a good edge on my hone is using about zero pressure in the finally 10 to 15 laps.
