Thanked: 2591How many stones in the progression?
I have the 1k, 2k, 5k, 8k, 12k never had issue remembering the grit-color correspondence.
I really like the results from those stones, very consistent and easy to jump to a Jnat from them.

As for remembering matching color and grit consider adding an article to the WiKi.
Illustrate with pictures.... Use a good subject line and link it in the right place and
you can find it a day, a week, a year or so from now.

Yeah, I've seen that the SS exists in different colors for the same grit, I think I have at leat one in the "old" color
As for the Shaptons the main concern for me was that the 2K and 8K are both green, the 8K being a little lighter and classified as "Melon", but after starting this thread (which blew up a bit more than expected ) I don't think I will ever have problems separating them again
But I'd still like the stamps to remain though, just because I like my stuff to look tidy (I know, I'm just slighty picky )

I still check by reading the labels with the 2k & 8k.
The 320 grit & the 1500 grit also. One is a darker blue than the other but that's where the similarity stops.
