Good luck on your pursuit of hone knowledge. If you ever want to try some hones, I have Shaptons, Naniwa's, coticules, Cnats, Jnats, Nortons, Charnley Forest, etc.. I'm in Purcell, 36 miles south of OKC on I-35.

That sounds like a fun time, an Okie SRP get together needs be put in place.......

I am probably getting ahead of myself and should wait to ask this after it arrives and I get it cleaned up, but I am doing all the reading I can on coticules tonight..
And I think this is glued to slate right? Which means I don't touch a razor to it...it's just for backing....right?

It's hard to tell from the images. The color looks like slate, but that could be bad "white balance" with his camera. If its as old as it looks, it could be glued to a BBW. If its slate, no don't hone on it. If its BBW you can but most don't recommend using it either.

Ok thankyou, I am just trying to get my mind around what I am reading up on.

Looks like it's glued to slate to me. Natural combos don't do straight lines normally.

It doesn't look like the slate on mine. Is the color in the image accurate, or is it more blue? Look at the 4th image down in this link and they sure look similar. I'm thinking BBW, but I hope some others with BBW's confirm it. http://straightrazorpalace.com/hones...combo-wow.html
