Well, any of us who refuse to go on to powders or sprays after the stones are essentially doing that. Just picking a level where we'll stop, or where we're satisfied, and ignoring the logical conclusion that we're spending a lot of money sticking to a stone only principle.

In reality, if we all just went with a $75 synthetic stone and followed with 0.5 or 0.3 chromium oxide, we'd have an edge that was more keen and very comfortable. Especially if we spent as much time and thought on it as we do with natural stones.

I could not defend the same thing as I do (the stones only) to a rational thinking person who just wanted a sharp razor with which to functionally shave.
