Newbie looking
Im new to straight Razor shaving, But I know down the line I will need to learn to hone. I don't know one stone from another so I would just have to trust you guys, but Im looking to get a stone or 2 .I like most people at this time don't have a lot of money, I guess most pensioners don't, but if anyone has one that not doing anything. Could you please drop us a line, thanks guys.

Hello Mr. Dragon,
Before you get "down the line" in needing a hone, work over the "Library" section with reading & videos. Also use the "Advanced search" button above right, by putting in keywords. This will give you the threads related to your interest.
I think you leave yourself a bit open to future disappointment by looking to buy first, without knowing the specific hone you want or need. You will be well versed in a few days of reading about hones & honing on what equipment you need to start with.

This just about cover's it all as as to "What hone do I need" We get that a lot. We normally recommend the Norton 4/8k for beginners. Lot's of info on here about that hone.

Buy a 1K hone for bevel setting and buy the Norton 4/8K as well. After getting amazing shaves from those stones you can look for a finisher or pastes and sprays.
The Norton 4/8K is the most priceless hone I know of.
