Me too...! Thuringian that is...The best thing to do is take it for a test drive, see how it does.
A few companies imported those stones into the U.S and relabeled them, Like SRD for instance or Droescher. I have an SRD that is very similar to a Barber's choice....We have assumed control !

Thanked: 2209The American Hone Company also made barber hones for SRD and other companies.
To the OP....IMHO this is a Thuringen stone. It has the right size, color, ease of slurrying and the most telling of all is the slurry stone. Most of the other natural stones did not include a slurry stone and most of the barber hones included only a coarse rubbing stone.
The other point is that to the best of my knowledge only the American Hone Company manufactured the Frictionite line of hones. First in Olean, NY then in Moravia, Iowa.
Hope this helps,Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Yep! Seems real deal! One thing's for certain! It is NOT a Gnomestone!

Thanked: 32Thanks for the opinions fellows, as I thought it is definitely a Thuringian "produced in America".
