jpcwon, I have a couple like you bought, and a couple with the E &Co label. They are not just similar. They are virtually identical. Mine vary in color, and may vary in quality, although I don't have enough experience to judge that.
What I do know though for sure is that they are delightful to use. I read somewhere that you can hold the stone end in your hand and let the top of the box run across your wrist and up your arm. I tried that and I think it works great. It almost forces you to be constantly aware of what the razor is doing on the stone. Much more intimate some how than honing on a larger stone that sits on a surface. I hope you find this to be true as well.
Enjoy
Don

Yes, I've seen the label with the Goblet (I believe it's yellow?), which is obviously Escher. I have to believe that the similarities between that one & the one I have are too numerous to overlook (the name Celebrated, the wording, etc..). I will not, however, call mine an "Escher" as there's no definitive proof. It is instead "My Little Thuri"!

This is 100% an Escher. I have 2 hones like this.
I am sure you will enjoy the performance of this little guy.

Thanked: 2Re: My New Toy
I have one identical to this. I picked it up in an antiques store in New Orleans for $14. Being so narrow, it's a bit of a bear to work with, but it leaves a really smooth edge if you are careful. I just got a coti and haven't tried to better my coti edge with this thuri, but I'm sure I could manage it.
