Thought I would add some better pictures. Don't think it is a Thuringian it seems to cut way to fast for that.

When I got it the whole stone looked black and glazed over with no discernible pattern on the stone what so ever. Once I lapped it is when the surface showed up. I was going to lap one of the ends and see what it looks like.
