Talking with several a people we came to the conclusion that depending on the lapping level in thinking of finess...they can be quite good performers..

Using with water they give a harsh uncomfortable shave, using oil my grit estimation is above 6k-8k, some seems to get a bit higher then that...

The interesting thing is that your example is stamped and ive only seen one other example of those stamped hones, its from Modine on R&S....these just do look to different from the metallic looking special Stones...with their sometimes visible pockmarks.
    Interesting!
I know it isn't a "La Lune" or a "Special Stone" of course, but the mentioning of being a concurrent of "La Lune" seemed intriguing, the stamp "Super Fine" does fulfill its promises, I must say, I've got a HHT4 out of it and a nice shave, maybe indeed a bit harsh, but not uncomfortable. Although it cannot compete with my Jnat's, it can go farther than my coti's, so the "grit-range" seems to fit.
I can relate that the finish is dependable to its lapping level, it indeed seems to be the case.
Still trying to get the best out of it, but it's promising

    Thanks!
