+1 to the naniwa ss it does give a nice edge, and moderately quick (not as fast as the chocera), I do enjoy mine even though I do want a chocera for harder steels. As far as your standar 01, A2, 1095 steels the naniwa ss works great. Glad you liked it!
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.
