I have a feeling I could shave off it, but bet it wouldnt be comfy. I would be happy to send this stone to Stefan, and then have him send it on to you Mike.

The label mentions Japanese Empire. That label is pre-1945 because after the war the reference to an "Empire" was not used. This looks like a good stone to me and the white slurry is a good indicator or high silica content. I would be happy to test out the stone also.

The stone made it to the NY/NY meetup, where it was judged to be a "Great Stone" of the Oshihiro type. (not sure about spelling, or what that means, but I think thats what they said)
I would be happy to let you guys play with it, but I DO want to seal it up before sending it off. Give me a few days, I'm on the road right now. =)
M
