Thanks Andrew for pointing that out, I was also wanting to pick one up at Lee Valley so I'm very interested/
The DMT is available online for quite a bit less but picking one up to my mind just makes sense to me as Lee Valley is close.
I did read somewhere on here that the DMT's had warping issues

Thanked: 2284I've also read this. Guys buying Dmt's and returning them 2 or 3 times before they actually get one that's flat. I didn't want to deal with that so I went right to the Atoma. I'm so glad I got it, the Atoma 1200. Comparing it to my sandpaper that I had been using to lap my stones, is like day and night. Norton 400 grit wet/dry is what I had been using to lap all my stones before the Atoma. I was lucky if I could get 3 stones lapped with one sheet. A harder stone like a J-nat or a black Ark cant be touched by any grit sand paper unless you want to get down into double digits. the Atoma 1200 worked well on my J-nat.
Not saying the Dmt is a bad lapping plate, as I have no experience with one. Just figured the extra money on the Atoma seemed to be justified by other guys experiences. Maybe at some point I might pick up a DMT 325 just to try one. The Info here from the experienced guys has been great!!!!Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....
