Thanked: 4I was hoping it was a good stone. ( I was after the box.) I am planing to restore it.. I'll post photos when I finish. How does a Schwedenstein compare to a Thuringian? Is it used only as a finisher?

Definately Schwedenstein, i have couple of them too.
Well at some Point i did write somewhere that the Schwedenstein Will leave an edge as sharp as vintage thuringian and as smooth as a coticule.
Yes finisher or touchups.

I got some hones with streaks like that, I thought they were shale.
Any good way to tell Thuringian, Schwedenstein and Shale apart?Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.
