I am pretty sure that with a 4000 or esp the 8000 grit side of a norton, you'd have exactly that effect.

What I do is put it on kitchen paper for a night, and then just put it back in the box. There will be some moisture inside probably, but it won't hurt the stone.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
