I have had quite a few guys over for a one on one session around the hones.
One thing I have noticed in addition to too much pressure is this:
A few of them honed all the way down the hone.
By doing so while adding pressure to the razor when sliding off the short end of the hone, it is pretty much unavoidable to get scratches behind the bevel.
I'm not sure if this is the case here, but I thought I should mention it as a possibility.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I broke down and sent the razors back to my dealer for repair. Meanwhile, I am going to lap my stones and get some cheap practice razors to work on until I get this down. Thanks for your replies.
