Thanked: 485No, yeah, it's very comforting and 'grounding' due to the fundamental nature. Honing, like stropping, is very much a meditative thing, I find. Polishing boots is also good for the mind. And ironing. And polishing cufflinks. Also, letter writing with a dip pen is cool, especially on a little table set up outside in the sun, with maybe a bottle of Swedish pear cider...

My wife says that I look nefarious when I hone, there is always a little smile on my face and I take slow deliberate strokes. When you know you have hit the edge evenly it is a very satisfying feeling.
