In theory it could happen. There are so many variable to razors that it may be faster to do it by hand in the end.

So then the honing machine thinks? Is self aware? And what would it do for entertainment while not honing? Think, I suppose...

Would love to hone for others, to help out. I can't keep honing my razors if they don't need it.
Anyone know how to rate a stone of unknown grit
I was told that you use stones of known grit and a loupe, if your stone makes the edge smoother it is finer, if not then coarser, keep trying known stones until you figure it out. Though that isn't from personal experience.

Born to hone. I like the sound of steel grinding into a rock on Saturday afternoon. I like the smell of napalm in the morning.
