I'm not sure if it's blue or black - kinda has some greenish tint to it... if it's a backing why would the slurry stone have it too???

Thanked: 2591The slurry stones are cut offs after the backing was applied. BBW is purple with distinct dots, the slate backing is plane black. If you are not sure which you have post pics of the backing and the side of the stones.

See, i was thinking dirty thoughts like this when the slate came unglued from my coti.
But it looks pretty rough, wouldn't be much blue left after i flattened it. Slate is going back on.

The back of my coticule is a purplish/blue color & I use it often in the honing process, right before I go to the yellow side.
