    Default Honing bridge

Obviously I'm still a beginner when it comes to honing but just thought I'd share that I'm a fan of the honing bridge. Saw it at Euclid440's house a couple months ago and realized I needed to make one of my own. Just some scrap wood and non slip drawer liner.
I think I was subconsciously starving during honing cause I prob didn't want a mess at the table.
Now I can splash at will with a squirt bottle and not be hesitant to rinse with the faucet to lap/create slurry etc. so take it or leave it! Haha

Haha yeah mine started out that way cause I had a piece of junk wood, Stefan's is that way because he has used it so much! I like that too.

    Nice ideas!
I use a long piece of Corian scrap across the front of my kitchen sink, where there is good lighting for final honing from the window behind it. I hone right / left not away toward. I use another one in the basement across my deep sink for the rough work..
I use a hand held stone for final polishing.
Every idea I have seen here on SRP has taught me something good or bad about what works for me.

PS. I also live alone which makes it all possible!

Again, wonderful, above posts are ideas to make honing easier which allows time to make the edge better.

When I was thinking about a bridge, I cut a small milk crate down to size and stuck it in the sink. It worked fine, but I hone on the bench sitting down, my preference at the moment.
