    Default sharp and smooth

may not be the correct place for this post , ill leave it to the mod gods ,, with discusions in the past for and against the shapton hones ,, I would like to say that in the right hands and on the right steel they work great I just got my kinfolks blue steel back from gssixgun and I just had the smoothest ,close shave ive had to date. thank you glen your a professional and a pretty good guy all around and if ive learned anything on this forum its that no one razor or set of stones will be the same , I know my limitations , ill let glen elaborate on his technic. any way that's my post and opinion and keep the great info coming

I pretty much exclusively use Shapton GS stones, they are an excellent system. Combine that with a guy who has had a few razors pass through his hands...you get exactly what you were hoping for: A great shaving razor. Congratulations on a great shave.

I use Shaptons exclusively and have had nothing but excellent results on every single razor I've honed - and I have quite a variety in my collection. I learned on Nortons and Naniwas and I think the Shaptons are easier, more consistent and cut fast as anything.

I have no issues with the rumored microchips either and I finish on a 16 then 30K. It only takes a few strokes on the 30K to get a mirror finish edge that's as sharp as sharp can get.

If you can afford the Shaptons I think they are the best of the synthetics.

    Just my opinion!

The more I use my Shaptons the more I love them, the 30k finish is just right for me.

Has anyone here used the new 10k glass stone? I'm curious as to why it's more expensive than the 16k...
