Responsible? More praise, indeed, and me just getting over the doc telling me I am impotent - went straight out and bought a pair of crocodile shoes, a new suit and a fedora hat to show just how impotent I am!

No flies on me - are there?

A couple of other things jump to mind.
How rusty was the razor before honing/restoring ? Wouldn't be the first Sheffield wedge to crumble after a few shaves.
Do you have a wife & kids with access to said razor ? Mysterious damage can be from other parties using the razor prior to your shave.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Or, as one well known hone person found...his cats played with the razors!
