A well sharpened quality razor like you are starting with will be your ticket to the world of "Now I want THIS too!" Most important right now though will be your learning the strop.
There are a number of meet ups that take place in and around NYC so you can get a hands on learning session in with more experienced folks. I am frequently in the NYC area, so if you ever need some one on one instruction, I might be able to help out.
