    I took notice of your reference about the norton being the 06 of stones which are you a hunter or a shooter.

    You are fine with just the Naniwa SS 1k that will do anything you might want and more.. When you wear out your first 1k then it might be time to think about a dedicated bevel setter

    Thanks for the help I took a cheapo razor and went to town on it last night did not come out to bad for my first try i will dull it up today and try it all over again.

    Well, being stubborn is fine and wanting to learn is fine too but do it on an Eboy special. Why would you want to take the chance with a brand new razor?

    My view is only do what you have to do. it may only need a light honing on a finishing hone. Once you decide what it needs and show us a picture we can better advise.
