Default Make a factory new razor shave ready

I am new to honing I know everyone says send it out to get professionally honed but,I am stubborn and want all the fun or misery for myself.

So with that said what is the actual progression I have the naniwa 1K,5K,8K and 12K already lapped them now what?

I have watched a ton of videos but have not come across one that tells me if I need to set a bevel on a factory new or not and exactly what needs to be done to make it shave ready and the razor is a Dovo Prima Klang extra full.

Part of the challenge of honing is reading the edge, the next part is knowing when to stop honing.. If you are stubborn enough to attempt the process then you are going to have to also accept the challenge to learn the process..

Everyone will offer opinions and suggestions and can tell you what they did with their razors but without having the razor in hand and having a chance to "Read the edge" then we are all just guessing..

I have a simple rule when honing, If I didn't set the bevel myself then I am going to do at least a light bevel set

It's hard to tell what you'll need to do without seeing the razor.
If you're lucky the bevel is already set and you'll only need to touch it up.
I hone and strop only well enough to be comfortable with my own razors. gssixgun is your expert here.
